Hi, all.

The above picture was taken by Ms. Erin Noel, who apparently is a great photographer.
I just got back from a lovely trip to Northern California which inspired a new song–sort of a California odyssey song, called “San Francisco”. You can download it free of charge here. I think it came out pretty good for a rough demo.
In other news, I bought a silver pre-engagement ring for my girlfriend Carrie:

Oh, to be young and in love.
I’m going to be scheduling some shows soon. I’ll let you all know. I may be going on a Greater Los Angeles tour along with Lucas Revolution as well.

Breakfast Recap
This morning, inspired by musical comedy duo Paul and Storm, I made these (although not as many as in the below picture I stole from Paul and Storm):

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Cheese Hot Dogs
They were quite good, actually. Basically, you get hot dogs, cut down the middle, fill them with jalapeños (I used pickled, sliced ones), cheese, wrap them in bacon, and grill them. I don’t know if I’ll be able to eat for the rest of the day, though.
CD Release Recap
Lucas Revolution hit the stage right at 7:30 after the worst sound check ever. The video projection system was not working, and the DI box kept making loud noises. The sound problems mostly worked themselves out by the time Lucas finished his 1-song set, and I took the stage at 7:42 after a long (but very heartfelt) song.
My setlist was as follows, if memory serves:

Hey all, I was at a concert last night, seeing the fabulous John Elliott, who was nice enough to get me into his show last-minute. Among his opening acts (yes, when you’re John Elliott, you get TWO opening acts) was a ukulele player (ukeist?) named Victoria Vox. She was good, and she mentioned that the American Asperger’s Association put out a CD to benefit people with Aspergers. But here’s the problem–none of the artists on the CDs have Aspergers or Autism.
Here’s what I propose: If you are a musician with Autism or Aspergers–contact me. We should make a CD to benefit music education for people with Autism/Aspergers. It probably won’t really get rolling until after my CD, “Our Wonder Years” is released on June 15th. But send me songs anyway.
Again–try to make it to my show June 15th @ 7:30pm. 1411c Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291. It’s free, it’s fun—it’s my CD release show.

Last night I played a show at The Guitar Merchant in Canoga Park with Open Resonance and We Last Forever–kind of as a warm-up for my CD release show in June. I have to say, it went great–at least 10 people I’d never met came up to me afterwards to tell me how much they enjoyed my set… I rarely play shows in the valley, but this will change soon, hopefully–Northridge-based Open Resonance wants me to do more shows with them, and if those shows are even half as good as last night–I’m in!
Remember to come to the CD release show on June 15.

Hello all,
I finally got a new website. Explaining that my website was gypsypunk.net but I play folk music was starting to get old.
Everybody should check out the fundraising page for my new album, “Our Wonder Years”. We need money to get this done, and the page will expire on March 31 if $200 is not raised!
Also, for those of you in the LA area, try to make it down this Sunday, March 7th, for a great gig at Peets Coffee!
With love and braised pork chops,
Charlie
